Jess Kelley was drivng on Interstate 465 back in January when she saw a car swerving all over the road. The woman then called 911.
Dispatch: "Indiana State Police?"
Kelley: "I just called a few minutes ago, about a driver on 465. I'm staying behind him. He's going to kill somebody."
She said a drunk driver was weaving all over the road, nearly hitting a series of cars.
Kelley: "A burgundy colored luxury car in front of me that was going in and out of all the lanes and going slow and speeding up. He almost ran somebody off the road."
Dispatch: "Alright, well ma'am, I'm going to put you on hold. I'm going to get you over to a dispatcher so we can see if we have anyone close out on the interstate."
The dispatcher did reassure her.
Dispatch: "Stay calm, we'll put him out. Okay?"
She waited two and a half minutes, stll following the dangerous driver and still no officers.

Add / View comments | Discussion FAQWe had the same thing happen to us only the 911 operator hung up on us. We called 911 just out side of Rochester. We witnessed the driver weave all over, cross the center line, and almost hit several cars. Everytime we changed counties we'd call again. When we were getting ready to enter the city limits of Warsaw, I naively assumed they'd have a police car waiting on us, I was wrong. We called 911 again and at this point we were asked if we were following him. My husband said that we were taking an alternate route home. She then said that we were breaking the law and must stop immediately and then she hugh up on us. So we quit following. The Warsaw police then called us back about 5 min. later to ask if we knew where the driver was because they couldn't find him. All my husband had to say was, "I hope he doesn't kill someone." I lost a lot of respect that day for the police of Warsaw!
