Keeping it clean

Subcontractors from Matt's Underground Utility Construction working for CMS Energy work on a cleanout station at East Park in Resort Township, Tuesday. The collection piping, that moves contaminated water from the collection system at the park to the cleaning station, is being reconfigured and upgraded. The upgrade includes installing an inline cleaning system that uses compressed air to move a cleaning device through the pipes to remove debris and keep the lines open. In the past, vacuum trucks were brought in to clean the lines. The new system will be automatic and more efficient.
