Curiosity rover makes landing

On Aug. 6 the Curiosity rover, a car-sized robotic rover exploring the Gale Crater on Mars as part of NASA¿s Mars Science Lab mission, made a safe landing. The rover¿s goals include investigating the Martian climate and geology and assessing whether the field site inside the crater ever has offered condition favorable to life on Mars.
