INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The New England Patriots struggled to survive at Indianapolis — but survive they did, beating the Colts 24-20.

Tom Brady threw two touchdown passes in a four-minute span of the fourth quarter to overcome a 10-point deficit and beat the Super Bowl champions.

The win in perhaps the NFL's biggest regular-season game ever keeps the 9-0 Patriots on course for the NFL's first unbeaten season since Miami did it 1972. It also gives them the first tiebreaker over 7-1 Indianapolis in the AFC playoffs.

New England trailed 20-10 after Peyton Manning scored on a 1-yard sneak with 9 minutes and 42 seconds left in the game.

Brady's 55-yard completion to Randy Moss set up a 3-yard TD pass to Wes Welker. Rosevelt Colvin knocked the ball loose from Manning to force a punt on the next series. Then Brady found Kevin Faulk over the middle for 13 yards for the winning score with 3:15 left.

Both teams were far from perfect in their big showdown. Brady threw two interceptions that led to Colts scores, and Manning threw one interception and lost that fumble to Colvin that ended any hope of a second straight comeback against his old nemesis.

So what happened in the NFL's game of the year?

Indy came into the game with just five turnovers, fewest in the league. Brady had thrown only two interceptions in his first eight games and wound up doubling that total.

But while Brady's mistakes were costly, it was Manning's late-game fumble that proved decisive.

In the loss, Colts running back Joseph Addai made team history. Addai became the first Colts player to gain more than 100 yards both rushing and receiving in a game. Even Indianapolis stars Marshall Faulk and Edgerrin James never accomplished the feat.

Addai ran for 112 yards on 26 carries. He also caught five passes for 114 yards, including a 73-yard catch and run that gave the Colts a 13-7 halftime lead.

Addai had 107 yards receiving and 80 yards rushing before halftime. He was held to 32 yards on 11 carries and one catch for seven yards in the second half.
