MISHAWAKA — The third-ranked Mishawaka Cavemen will have a chance to avenge their only regular season loss in two years this weekend. The Cavemen will face off against Perry Meridian in the opening round of this weekend's state meet, and the cavemen are ready!

“We've worked hard all year and I'm 100 percent confident we're going to come out with the victory,” said senior Neal Kostry.

Ranked fourteenth in the state, Kostry hopes to help deliver a team title back to Mishawaka High School for the first time since 1991.

"Neal Kostry, he's a great testament to our program," said head coach Darrick Snyder. "He's a kid that's come in as a freshman and was a good wrestler, but he's become great. I feel like he can go out and beat just about anybody."

Neal brings the same approach to the classroom that he does to the wrestling mat.

"I take my studies pretty seriously and I'm going to Purdue next season," he said. "Wrestling and academics are pretty close as far as my main goals. Right now, this week wrestling is my main goal, but definitely academics are a huge part of Mishawaka High School and what I am."

Neal maintains a 3.9 GPA and plans on studying engineering at Purdue.

Congratulations to Neal Kostry, this week’s Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete!
