Four of our local teams competed in Saturday's semi-state basketball tournament for a chance to get to the state championship!

Marion's Julius Mays gave the Riley Wildcats a hard time at Lafayette Jefferson's Crawley Center. The 6-foot-2-inch senior knocked down 10 of his 15 field goal attempts and finished with 28 points, leading #8 Marion to a 64-52 triumph over Riley in the Class 4A Lafayette semi-state.

In Class 3A, the Plymouth Pilgrims ended their quest for back to back state titles with a 68-57 loss to Fort Wayne Harding. Fort Wayne Harding (22-3), proved their superior athletic ability at every position and will gear up to play 22-2 Washington next Saturday.

In the Class 2A semi-state at Warsaw High School, DeShaun Thomas scored 35 points and had 17 rebounds to lead #3 Fort Wayne Luers past #2 Westview, 83-70. The Warriors' 23-game win streak comes to an end as they finish at 24-2!

Saving the best for last, #3 ranked Triton punched their ticket to the state championship with a 52-51 win over #4 Lafayette Catholic in Class 1A! Colton Keel made the ending difference again -- this time with a rebound basket with 2.9 seconds remaining! The 24-2 Trojans now set up to play Indianapolis Lutheran next Saturday.
