SOUTH BEND — Behind goalie Jordan Pearce's 24 saves, the Irish downed Ferris State 2-1 in game 3 of their CCHA second round playoff game on Sunday evening.

"They played us hard. I expected it to be that way and it wasn't any different than what I expected," said Notre Dame head coach Jeff Jackson. "I'm just really proud of our kids. To be honest with you I'm most proud of Jordan Pearce for the journey he's traveled this year. I thought he was a big reason why we won tonight."

"We wanted to come out and play strong, and then Friday night they played really well and we played alright and they got the win, so we were really just wanting to get to the Joe," said Pearce.

The victory sends the 24-13-4 Irish to Joe Louis Arena for the CCHA semi-finals. They’ll play Miami (OH) Friday night at 7 p.m.

Notre Dame will be defending their 2007 CCHA tournament championship.
