INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Danielle Havel of Class 4A champion Carmel and Emily Phillips of 4A runner-up South Bend Washington will be teammates this summer as members of the Indiana high school girls All-Star basketball team.

They will join Miss Basketball Brittany Rayburn of Attica on the team that will play Kentucky twice in the annual All-Star series in June. The boys' All-Stars and Mr. Basketball will be announced The Indianapolis Star, which sponsors the award, next month.

Havel, who also received the IHSAA Pat Roy Award for mental attitude, had 16 points and six assists in the Greyhounds' 84-72 victory over Washington for the championship.

"This year especially, it's been fun, definitely," Havel said. "To win state, to get the mental attitude award, to be a senior All-Star, I couldn't ask for more than that."

The other All-Stars are Betsy Adams of Twin Lakes, Briana Bass of Indianapolis North Central, Magie Boyer of Lebanon, Kayla Drake of Kokomo, Larretha Draughon of Indianapolis Northwest, Lindsay Enterline of Heritage, Alex Guyton of Bloomington North, Felisha Johnson of Lawrence North, Lisa Samplawski of Portage and Lauren Taylor of Brownsburg.

Kem Zollman of Wawasee will be the girls' coach, with Shari Doud of Pendleton Heights and Angie Oliver of Evansville Bosse as his assistants.
