SOUTH BEND -- Adults around our area put their playground skills to the test Saturday, and it was all for a good cause. The fourth annual 'Kicks for Kids' charity kickball tournament kicked off Saturday afternoon (pun intended) at Clay Township Park in South Bend.

Proceeds from the event go to the Friends of Child Abuse Prevention Services (FOCAPS) and BASS -- a nonprofit organization that aims to attract talented young people who live and work in the South Bend area by fostering connections to each other and the community.

The Kicks for Kids tournament annually draws more than 180 participants from around the Michiana area.
