CHICAGO -- Two days after making his major league debut, Jeff Samardzija picks up his first career big league save.

Samardzija threw two perfect innings against the Florida Marlins, to close out the Cubs' comeback win at Wrigley Field. He struck out three of the six batters he faced. His ERA drops to 2.25 in two big league appearances.

Samardzija's performance capped off a thrilling victory for the Cubs, who got behind 5-0 early. Alfonso Soriano hit his first home run since June 7th, a 3-run blast in the 5th inning, which tied the game at 5.

Then, with the game tied at 6-6 in the 7th, Mike Fontenot delivered with a 2-out, bases loaded double to give the Cubs a 9-6 lead.

The Cubs move one game ahead of Milwaukee in the NL central. They begin a 4-game series with the 2nd place Brewers on Monday.
