Laettner's nephew commits to Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND (AP) — The nephew of former NBA player Christian Laettner has made an oral commitment to play basketball at Notre Dame.

Mike Broghammer is a 6-foot-8 senior at Hopkins High School in Minnetonka, Minn. He visited Notre Dame over the weekend and says he'll join the Irish next year. He averaged 12 points and 10 rebounds last season.

Notre Dame coach Mike Brey was an assistant at Duke when Laettner played there.
