WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — The Notre Dame vs. Purdue game carries ALL KINDS of importance — which team will leave 3-1? It's also important to former Penn star Frank Duong, now making plays for the Boilermakers.

You don't have to explain the significance of the game to Boilermaker safety Frank Duong.

"It's like a homecoming for me. I grew up 10 miles from there. I understand the mystique of Notre Dame. I'm excited and I have a lot of family coming to this game, so I'm looking forward to it," Duong said of Saturday's game against ND.

My how time flies — five years ago, Duong carried the ball and the hopes of the Penn Kingsmen with him. These days at Purdue, Duong's on the other side of the ball being a difference maker — see his interception return for a TD in this past weekend's victory over Central Michigan.

Will Duong do the same against the Irish?

"It's a big game for both of us. It's one of our big rivalry games. Both teams, we feel like we something to prove. It'll be big to play well and set ourselves apart from the rest," said Duong.
