SOUTH BEND — Anyone who has watched Washington's Skylar Diggins play basketball knows that any seat is good enough to appreciate her talents. But what about her biggest fan — her mom Renee? Where she sits every game might surprise you.

"I looked up into the stands, and said man, that's it. I can't live without that," said Skylar Diggins on the night she signed with Notre Dame.

Diggins must have had to look pretty far up into those stands, because her mom, Renee Scott, is all the way at the top. Like nose-bleed at the top.

"I have a lot of watching to do," Renee told WSBT Sports. "I just get so animated, my dad is the only one brave enough to sit up here with me. There's no telling what may come out!"

"She gets nervous," added Diggins.

And how couldn't she? Renee's not only watching her All-American daughter, she's also watching her husband Maurice do the head coaching.

"I just want him to coach well, and for her to do well," said Scott.

Diggins has more than done just well. Well enough to be considered one of the best in the country, and well enough to head to Notre Dame.

"It's just a blessing, the support from the community is overwhelming," said Scott.

So that begs the question, what will Renee do when Skylar takes her game from the west side of South Bend to the 10,000 seat Joyce Center? Where will Skylar's mom sit then?

"Maybe the Joyce Center will build a special section for her, and leave three seats around her empty," laughed Diggins.

"I have no idea what I'll do. I'll have to scout it out and see, but it won't be in front. Maybe they could make some box seats with some glass around it or something," Renee added.

Wherever Renee ends up, they'll still be the best seats in the house.
