SOUTH BEND -- A word to the wise if you're a student at Plymouth High School -- think twice before giving freshman Priscilla Hammonds a hard time.

"It started out out with me watching Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan and saying 'Hey Dad, I want to do that!'" said Priscilla, who is a black belt and instructor at Plymouth Tae Kwon Do.

"A couple of times I thought I was going to have to get a cot so she could sleep here!" said her instructor Tim Castle. "When the doors open she's here. She's a young lady that you can always count on and that's one of the major qualities of a black belt."

Good things come in small packages. Priscilla's 4'7" and under 90 pounds due to Turner's Syndrome, which typically stunts growth. It doesn't at all stunt Priscilla's positive attitude.

"I've worked just as hard as anyone else to get to this rank. I'm glad I got here though -- it's hard to find a sparring partner my size!" she admits.

Her discipline on the mat translates outside the dojo. Pricilla's an A student, a member of Plymouth's choir, and is already planning to become a software engineer. She's living proof that you can't judge a book by its cover.

Congratulations Priscilla Hammonds, this week's Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete!
