SOUTH BEND -- South Bend Clay wide receiver Daniel Smith has the chance to play college football at Notre Dame.

WSBT Sports has confirmed that Smith received a scholarship offer from Notre Dame over the weekend.

Smith is one of the top prep players in the area. The junior wide receiver is well known in the NIC for his highlight reel catches. His size and hands make him an excellent prospect at the division one level.

A source close to the family says Smith will choose the Irish over Purdue, Indiana and Central Michigan. An announcement is scheduled for Monday afternoon at Clay High School.
