SOUTH BEND -- In the first of four big weekends leading up to the State Tournament the South Bend Washington Panthers are off to a great start.

Skylar Diggins scored 24 points and Karis Phillips added 19 to lead the Panthers to a 83-60 Sectional win over South Bend Clay Saturday night at Penn High School.

The win sets up a meeting in next Saturday's Regional with Elkhart Memorial, who beat Northride 46-19.

Other local Sectional winners include:

Class 3A: Plymouth over Culver Academy 59-30
NorthWood over Columbia City 48-23

Class 2A: Fairfield over Bremen 44-34
Winamac over Boone Grove 42-41

Class A: Oregon-Davis over Triton 65-22
