SOUTH BEND-- It wasn't the ending they imagined, but Sunday's Welcome Home rally at Washington High School wasn't focused on the last game that they lost. Instead, they focused on all the games that they won.

"It will probably be 10 to 12 years before they realize what they've done," says Panther fan Jerry Willis. "They've done something that no other school has done to my knowledge in this community. They've done something that every high school wants to do."

"This is such a special group, especially these seniors," said first year head coach Maurice Scott. "They have left a legacy and a road map that young girls will be able to follow."

"I think we've impacted so many lives, and vice versa," said senior Skylar Diggins. "We've just met so many people here at Washington and the community means a lot to us. It's something that we'll remember forever."

It something the South Bend community won't soon forget as well.
