Former Notre Dame star AJ Pollock to join Silver Hawks

SOUTH BEND — Notre Dame's AJ Pollock has signed his contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Drafted with the 17th overall pick, Pollock will soon be assigned to the Silver Hawks. He is not yet on the active roster, but is expected to join the squad sometime next week.

Named a Big East Conference first team selection, Pollock hit an astounding .356 this past season for Notre Dame. He hit 19 doubles, five triples, 10 home runs, bringing in 52 runs for the Irish.

Last summer Pollock was named MVP in the Cape Cod summer league, after hitting .377.

Pollock will make his professional debut sometime next week. The Silver Hawks return to Coveleski Stadium Tuesday night to face West Michigan at 7:30 p.m.
