Elkhart - If a team lacks trust, usually they won’t go too far. That’s not the case for the Elkhart Memorial volleyball team.

“We always use the word Believe,” says senior Brittany Anglemyer. “We really do believe in ourselves and each other especially.”

For four years now, Brittany has been a strong part of that trust.

“She kinda leads by example,” says Memorial coach Jaquie Rost. “She just works really hard and is really into it. She does a lot for her teammates. Really cares about her teammates. I think when you give that, others want to give back.”

“I’ve always thought that our teams were really close and stuff,” adds Anglemyer. “But this year we’re really tight with each other.”

For Brittany, volleyball is a family affair. Her sister Courtney was on the same team a few years back.

“Since my sister played, she’s only two years older than me, but we always have been neck and neck with talent. So we just push each other,” says Anglemyer.

“They’re very coachable and really a joy to coach because they’re really nice kids,” adds Coach Rost.

With Courtney currently playing at the University of Indianapolis and Brittany planning to play at IUPUI, there’s a chance these two sisters and former teammates could end up on the same court once again.

“It’d be great if they got to play each other,” says Coach Rost. “It’d be awesome. I hope I get to see it.”

Congratulations to Brittany Anglemyer, WSBT and Burger King Outstanding student Athlete.
