1986 - Vida Blue pitched one-hit ball for nine innings and Harry Spillman's pinch-hit, bases-loaded single in the 12th inning gave the San Francisco Giants a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Expos.
1991 - Ivan Lendl lost the first two sets, then rallied to win the final three sets and advanced to the second round of the U.S. Open tennis tournament with a victory over Richard Krajicek.
1996 - Liz Mack, Katie Kappes, Lindsey Craig and Jessica Barton were all victorious in singles matches, and the team of Kappes and Craig won a doubles match as Aberdeen Roncalli earned a 5-4 high school girls' tennis win over Huron.
2001 - Kim Weischedel scored 15 points with 12 points each from Amber Toennies and Ashley Newcomer as Sully Buttes downed Wessington 63-55 in a high school girls' basketball game.
2006 - Chris Knight of Aberdeen shot a one-over par 73 in the final round to finish with a two-day total of 141 and repeat as Open Division champion of the Dakota Open golf tournament. Runner-up Jack Hieb, also of Aberdeen, finished one shot behind Knight.
2010 - Cameron Pudwill rushed for 290 yards on 50 carries and three touchdowns and Luke Holt returned an interception 100 yards for a score, leading Redfield-Doland to a season-opening 28-14 high school football victory over Aberdeen Roncalli.
