1992 -- Charles Barkley and Karl Malone scored 24 and 19 points to lead the United States Olympic basketball team to a 116-48 victory over Angola.
1997 -- Returning to professional football after a year off, Randall Cunningham completed 10 of 14 passes for 102 yards and one touchdown as the Minnesota Vikings edged the Seattle Seahawks 28-26 in an exhibition football game.
2002 -- Lonni Stover pitched a five-hitter with five strikeouts in the first game, and Cody Marzahn followed with a two-hitter and also struck out five in the nightcap as Redfield Dairy Queen swept an amateur baseball doubleheader from Ipswich 11-1 and 10-0.
2007 -- Aberdeen 15-16 Teener pitchers limited Pierre to four hits in a doubleheader sweep of a baseball doubleheader. Taylor Morsching pitched a one-hitter in a 16-1 three-inning win in the first game, and Christian Cox followed with a three-hitter as Aberdeen claimed a 7-1 victory in the nightcap.
2011 -- A 17-7 spurt to start the fourth quarter broke open a close game and carried the South to an 81-72 victory over the North in the annual high school All-Star girls' basketball game at Wachs Arena. Cassidy Kotelman of Brookings scored 14 points to lead the South All Stars.
