BISMARCK, N.D. - Aberdeen Central picked up a fourth place finish and two fifth places during the final day of the Rotary Wrestling Tournament on Saturday.

Adam Scherr was fourth for the Golden Eagles while teammates Trevor Hieb and Tanner Flack each took fifth.

In usual style, Scherr won a close match and also lost a close one.

“All of Adam's matches come down to the end just because of his style,” said Central coach Shawn Lewis.

Hieb capped a memorable weekend with a win and a loss. Lewis said Hieb wrestled the best he has all season.

“We're really hoping Trevor turned the corner this weekend,” Lewis said.

Flack bounced back from a disappointing day on Friday to win two of his three matches.

“Tanner wrestled a lot better today,” said Lewis, noting that Flack used much better positioning than he did on Friday.

The Golden Eagles, who were not at full strength because of injuries, finished 16th in team points.

“I thought our kids wrestled well today,” Lewis said. “I think we can take a lot of things out of this. We're missing quite a few weight classes that we normally have kids at.”

Central hosts Brandon Valley at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Golden Eagles Arena before traveling to Mitchell for a dual on Friday.
