(WSBT) St. Joseph's High School in South Bend has plenty of reasons why they're one win away from the state finals. But none might be bigger than their "Taylor made" tailback.

If you follow high school football, you may have heard Jordan Taylor’s name once or twice this season.

The St. Joe senior has scored 25 touchdowns with the Indians so far this season and is the school’s all time leading rusher.

Taylor is being recruited by IU, Purdue, Illinois, and recently Notre Dame.

"Playing NCAA football video games, and watching on Saturdays, I definitely want to be a part of that,” Taylor told WSBT Sports. “It's something that I want to experience, so that's gonna be the big that that I'm excited to do at the next level."

Though he looks forward to taking the field on Saturday instead of Friday, Taylor isn't ready for the Indians success to end just quite yet.

“We all go through so many memorable times through the season, during the season, in the off season, in the weight room, so that's definitely going to be one of the aspects of playing at St. Joe that I miss,” he said.

If the running back thing doesn't work out, Taylor's got backup career plans already figured out.

“Not a lot of people know this, but I'm a big fan of space — NASA,” he said. “I always wanted to be an astronaut, when I was a little kid I wanted to be an astronaut. A lot of people make fun of me, but I don't care."

Whether he's on a spaceship or on the gridiron, Jordan Taylor has the makings of a college football star.
