(WSBT) Honor roll, academic honors, Key Club, student council, choir, community service ... the list goes on and on for Bremen High School senior Jon Hueni!

"He's been a great addition to Bremen swimming, not just from the standpoint of the abilities he's brought to us, but definitely the leadership and just being a really good teammate,” said Bremen Head Coach Ken Olsen.

At Bremen John has set 17 school records and after this year he's off to Indiana University, whose swimming program is ranked seventh in the nation.

"When you walk in their auditorium, you just see Big Ten posters, Big Ten championship posters everywhere, NCAA champions and that's really something I wanted to be a part of,” Hueni said. “I really meshed a lot with the guys on the team, and the coach and I have a pretty good chemistry.

"It's nice to stay in the Big Ten and a lot of the guys that I swim with around here are going to the Big Ten,” he said.

"We just hope that he'll be able to go down there and have a great college career, and achieve the goals that he wants to do — swim in the NCAAs and maybe go to the Olympic Trials,” Olsen said.

"I love the coaches, I love everything we do here, but I'm definitely ready to move on to the next level and step it up and see where I can go from here,” Hueni said.

Congratulations to Jon Hueni, this week's Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete!
