BOURBON — At the beginning of the season, many may not have pictured the Triton Trojans playing for a state championship, but senior captain Troy McIntyre knew better.

"This is where we expected to be,” he told WSBT Sports.

Triton has done just that, and their success is fueled by McIntyre's competitive nature, and six other hard working seniors.

"He just refuses to lose,” said head coach Jason Groves. "He's a great leader and at the same time he can stay focused, he can have fun but still gets to work when he needs to. He's a great kid and a great basketball player."

McIntyre is an honor roll student, and has been accepted to Indiana University. While he’s there, he plans to study physical therapy.

"I've been an IU fan since I was little, one of my brothers and my sister both graduated from there so that’s been playing in my head since I was little, and it’s always been my dream to go there,” McIntyre said.

Troy hopes to fulfill his state championship dreams this Saturday against Indianapolis Lutheran!

Congratulations to Troy McIntyre, the Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete of the Week!
