If you’re looking for Penn High School senior Andrew Elliott, you will most likely find him in the pool.

"Everyone in the sport is a really good person,” Elliott said. “It’s a great sport to be a part of.”

Through his four years at Penn, Andrew has left his mark with the Kingsmen. He was voted NIC MVP both this year and last, and over the course of his career at Penn he has set five school records. But one of his proudest records came at this year's state finals, where he took first place and set a new state record in the 100 backstroke!

"I was coming off my third wall and saw that I was ahead of everyone by quite a bit so that was exciting, and then I just came home with as much as I had left and I was able to break the record,” Elliott said. “I had no idea I was going to do it — I was just as surprised as anyone else when I saw the time!”

Andrew's swimming career continues next year at Ohio State.

“The facility is amazing, and I went to a football game and that is really what sold me!" he said. “I really hope that Ohio State will provide me with an opportunity to succeed like Penn has.”

Andrew will be missed at Penn for his dedication both in and out of the pool.

“He's an over-4.0 student, so he's not only a great example in the pool, but in the classroom,” said Penn Head Coach Dan Vogelgesang. “We’re going to miss him and his leadership and his whole character. It’s going to be tough to replace him, that’s for sure.”

Congratulations to Andrew Elliott, the Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete of the Week!
