SOUTH BEND -- The best and brightest high school student athletes were recognized at The Cove during Tuesday night's baseball game. As far as the eye could see were amazing athletes with smarts to back it up.

Culver Academy's Alex Banfich was the Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete of the Year. The eight-time long-distance running state champ threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
