SOUTH BEND — Junior Omar Turk is an invaluable part of South Bend Adams' tennis team.

"He has been the foundation of our team for the past three years, and he gets the guys pumped up for every match," said head coach David Martin. "He comes out and works hard, and he's just a natural leader."

As South Bend Adams' top singles player, Omar has only lost 3 different matches in the past 3 years. While he is still considering
playing tennis after high school, academics is still the most important factor when choosing his next step.

"I'm going to try to use academics to get into the best school possible," Omar said. "Academics are very important to me."

Omar is enrolled in Adams' IB Program, is a member of Adam's Student Government, and has a 3.7 grade point average.

"I haven't played too many team sports growing up, so coming here and playing in a team has meant a lot to me," he said. "I've made a lot of good friends on the team, so it's been pretty fun."

Congratulations to Omar Turk, this week’s Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete!
