ROCHESTER — Northern Indiana hasn't seen a sweet shooting stroke like the one Rochester's Bruce Grimm has in a long, long time. Averaging over 25 a game, Grimm has helped guide the Zebras into the 3-A State Finals.

Grimm has a bit of a philosophy behind the success.

"Basketball means more than life. It's like having a family, the ups and downs. Somehow you have to pull together for a game and have the poise to stay together," Grimm told WSBT Sports.

And stay together the Zebras have, all the way to Conseco Fieldhouse in fact. They couldn't have done it without the East Tennessee State bound marksman.

"He's a great leader on the court and in the classroom, in the hallways at our school," said coach Rob Malchow.

In their march to the state finals, Grimm-mania certainly has taken hold in Zebra-country.

"At the pep rally, they have kids yelling 'BRUCE!' But he's a very humble kid. He knows he's an example and he leads by example," Malchow said.

"It's amazing. This is right where we wanna be. There are signs all over the town. It's really brought the community together, too," added Grimm.

Congratulations to Rochester's Bruce Grimm, our Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete of the Week!
