MISHAWAKA — Most people could only wish to have the combination of skills and smarts that Penn's Mike Carroll has in his back pocket.

Either in football or in baseball, the sport he's currently starring in, Carroll always makes his presence known.

"He's an impact player. He's fast, smart and he knows how to use his speed. He sets the tone for the entire game," said coach Greg Dikos.

Carroll recently chose to further his baseball career at Duke University. Being immersed at such a competitive place like Penn helped him fulfill his D-I potential.

"Being at Penn and such a great program is huge. There's always someone pushing you, and it always helped me excel. We push each other here, and that helps make me successful," Carroll told WSBT Sports.

Known for his game-changing plays on the football field as much as he is for that clutch hit on the diamond, the A-student couldn't resist what was offered for him at Duke. And can you blame him with this garbage April weather?

"You know sometimes it's 20 degrees here, and 60 degrees there. I can't wait to play year round," Carroll added.

Congratulations to Mike Carroll, this week's Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete!
