Warsaw – From a very young age, Warsaw junior Nic Moore has had his feet on the hardwood.

“When I was younger I always wanted to be with my brother and his friends,” says Moore. “I’d always want to play with them at the YMCA, some pick up ball. It was just all of them pushing me and beating up on me. So I just kept on going with it.”

“He’s strong, he’s quick,” says Warsaw head coach Doug Ogle. “He has very good balance and has a great feel for the game.”

Averaging 18 points a game and only a handful of points shy of one thousand for his career, Nic owes a lot of his success to his support at home.

“My brother always asks me if I want to go to the YMCA and work out,” says Moore. “My mom, she’s the one that helps me with my studies if I need help.”

Although just a junior, Nic has an important role on the team.

“He’s been a real leader in practice,” says Coach Ogle. “As his leadership increases our team gets a lot better.”

“Coach told me as a freshman, he’s like it’s going to be hard,” adds Moore. “You know you’re our leader even though you’re younger. So you’re just going have to work at it.”

Congratulations to Nic Moore, WSBT and Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete.
