INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Interim coach Bruce Arians has kept the Colts' running smoothly in Chuck Pagano's absence.

He talks constantly with rookie quarterback Andrew Luck, yet has found enough time to do everything from watching film to attending leukemia research fundraisers. And the Colts are winning games.

Arians has spent 20 years as an NFL assistant, dreaming of running his own team long before coming to the Colts earlier this year. He now has the Colts (6-3) in the playoff hunt. And with five wins as interim coach, Arians could be chasing NFL records, too.

The most for wins by an NFL coach who took over during the season is nine, set by Hampton Pool with the 1952 Los Angeles Rams. Houston's Wally Lemm matched that total in 1962.
