The Colts have to be patient.
The team going through their final week of OTA's without quarterback Andrew Luck. NFL rules prohibit the number one overall pick from attending team activities until he finishes classes at Stanford University on June 7th.
While Luck takes his finals the team doing their best in his absence to build chemistry.
"Each day you can feel the closeness of the guys, you know just understanding where everybody is going to fit, understanding where they fit in the scheme and just running around and making plays," said defensive end Cory Redding.
Veteran wide receiver Reggie Wayne also participated in Wednesday's practice and like the rest of us he's still waiting to see what the team's new franchise quarterback has to offer. Luck had talked about meeting up with Wayne away from the Colts complex but it never worked out.
"I want to see what he can do. We know he can throw a college ball but we don't know if he can throw a pro ball yet. We will find out next week and I'm just as excited to see him as you guys," said Wayne.
Luck is one of three Colts 2012 draft picks who have yet to sign their contract. But, according to Jim Irsay's twitter account the two are getting close on a deal. Head Coach Chuck Pagano expects Luck to be with the team next week when mandatory mini-camp starts next Tuesday.
