The Fishers Police Department is investigating four residential break-ins that happened over the weekend.
Neighbors in the Sawgrass, Windemere and Hamilton Proper communities are on high alert. Police said no one was injured during the crimes, some of them happened while people were not home or were sleeping.
In two cases, thieves cut screen doors to get into the homes and took electronics and other items.
Jim Martin, president of the Hamilton Proper Community Association said he sent an email to the 500 homeowners in his area informing them of the crime spree.
"This is one of those neighborhoods where it doesn't take long for things that are out of place to be noticed. I probably had about 10 calls today from people wanting to know what's going on," Martin said.
The Hamilton Proper Community hired neighborhood patrol officers in January. Those officers will increase their patrols in light of the incidents.
Police urge people in the area to be vigilant, check their exterior lights are working and consider motion sensor lights around their homes.
