ATLANTA, GA---Washington basketball superstar Skylar Diggins couldn't help herself when she took the podium after formally receiving the Naismith National Player of the Year award Monday night in Atlanta.

With Indy Ben Davis Coach Stan Benge also in attendance receiving the girls basketball Coach of the Year, Diggins got a good-natured dig in herself saying "thanks to my future Indiana All-Star coach Stan Benge who's team got lucky in the state finals" only to draw laughs from the crowd. Ben Davis did beat SB Washington in the Class 4-A championship game on March 7th.

All jokes aside, Diggins continues to proudly represent her hometown. The Notre Dame bound guard will wait until Wednesday to learn if she is Indiana's Miss Basketball winner.
