BOURBON — A year ago, Triton came as close as possible to winning a sectional title only to fall short at the buzzer to the eventual state champion, Oregon-Davis.

Monday night on their home court, the Trojans made sure that would not happen again with a dominating wire-to-wire 71-31 win over Michigan City Marquette to secure the Sectional 50 crown for Class 1-A.

The Trojans (21-2) move on to the regional round for the first time since 2003 and will play Morgan Township in the first game Saturday at Triton. Tip-off is 10:30 a.m.
