Jennifer Lindsay is no stranger to hard work. The Penn senior has been dancing for 15 years, and it shows!

"She's just always motivated, always gives 110 percent, always on time,” said Penn poms head coach Sarah Wallace. “She is an inspiration to me as a coach, so I know she's an inspiration to the girls."

Jennifer also inspires younger generations — she started her own dance company and is teaching throughout Mishawaka.

"It started off as like five girls in a dance class, and now every week I teach dance classes to a bunch of girls, and there's even some guys in my class,” Jennifer told WSBT Sports. “It's really fun, I mean dance is everything to me right now. I know it won’t be a career, but I really love it.”

Jennifer will pursue her career goals at Indiana University. Through AP courses and Penn's dual credit program, she's already earned 33 college credits, and will start at IU as a sophomore!

"It's challenging, but it really is nice,” she said. “It's been a helpful transition to go from high school to the college scene."

Once at IU, she'll start working towards a law degree.

"I really want to work in international law in Spain,” she said. “I really like the Spanish culture, so I want to incorporate that with the law. Dance isn't in my future as a career but I'll always be dancing!”

Jennifer took second place at the state solo competition, with Penn's pom team grabbing third place in the advanced poms division.

Congratulations to Jennifer Lindsay, this week’s Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete!
