GOSHEN — Tyler Miller was born with cerebral palsy and hearing disabilities. But nothing can stop him from being there for the Goshen Redskins!

If you talk to most of the head coaches at Goshen High School, they will all tell you that they don't know what they would do without Tyler Miller.

"It's hard to be a three-sport athlete anymore in high school and Tyler's even more than that because he's a three-sport manager,” said Goshen baseball head coach Hal Farmwald.

"Tyler's the backbone of Goshen athletics — he's always there doing his job,” said Goshen senior Jordan Short. “He's the first one at practice and the last one to leave."

"I just really enjoy being around the guys and around sports,” Tyler told WSBT Sports. “I've been doing baseball since sixth grade and basketball and football since seventh grade at middle school, so I've been helping out a long time."

Tyler maintains a 3.7 GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society, and a volunteer sportscaster for Goshen.

He will study sports management at Indiana University next year, and will help manage the Hoosiers football team.

"I went there and they had a scrimmage and I talked to Coach Lynch. I was pretty excited to be on the field,” Tyler said. “Sounds like it's gonna be quite a bit of work, but that's part of it! Part of the job!”

“As good a manager as he is, he's even a better young man — he’s just a great kid that comes out here and works hard,” Farmwald said.

While he'll be moving to a new team next season, Tyler is certainly the role model for the Redskin managers who follow.
