Former Notre Dame All-American Chris Zorich has joined ND's athletic administration as manager of student welfare and development.

Zorich will be responsible for developing, coordinating and implementing programs for student-athletes that include academic excellence, athletic success, personal development, community involvement, and career preparation and development.

Zorich also will direct Notre Dame's summer sports camps.

Zorich, who played at Notre Dame from 1988-90, was a consensus All-America selection in 1989 and 1990.He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007 and will be enshrined this summer.

He is chairman of the Chris Zorich Foundation in Chicago and graduated from Notre Dame law school in 2002. Zorich was recently appointed to The Knight Commission, an organization that serves as a watchdog group for the NCAA.
