ELKHART -- Led by Cedric Moodie's game-high 34 points, the Elkhart Express' IBL title defense is off and running.

Elkhart (22-1) defeated Windy City 123-106 Friday night at North Side Gym in the opening round of the IBL playoffs.

The Express trailed Windy City 28-27 after the 1st quarter, but used a 33-point 2nd quarter to take an 11-point lead into halftime, which they never relinquished. Jarrod Lovette added 14 points and ten rebounds for the Express.

Elkhart will host the winner of Elgin(9-11) and Battle Creek(9-11) on Sunday in the eastern conference finals.
