SOUTH BEND -- The 'W' over at South Bend Washington once again stands for 'winning' on the football field.

The Washington Panthers are off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2001. Senior Jarrett Fleming has something to do with that!

"Jarett's a very good athlete and he's very talented. He's definitely someone who can change the momentum in a game by making a big play on offense or on defense," said head coach Antwon Jones.

Jarrett maintains around a 3.0 GPA and is extremely versatile on the football field. Instead of asking him what position he plays, it may be easier to ask him what position he can't play!

"I would say I really don't like blocking that much on the offensive line," Fleming answered.

But versatility is what Central Michigan is looking for, and Fleming committed to the Chippewas because of it.

"They're looking at me for defense but I'm going in there as an athlete. I can play wide receiver, tight end linebacker, defensive end ... so it's really just wherever I can get on the field the quickest," said Fleming

But before he starts thinking about his future on the football field, he'd like to finish what the resurgent Panthers have started this year.

"The coaching staff has a lot to do with it. We're learning more now and everybody is just having fun," said Fleming.

Congratulations to Jarrett Fleming, this week's Burger King Outstanding Student Athlete!
