NOTRE DAME — It's the last home game of the season for the Fighting Irish, and the seniors are hoping to make it memorable. WSBT Sports Reporter Pete Byrne is in Notre Dame Stadium and will be keeping you updated throughout the game. Check back here for the latest from Pete!


Syracuse 24 - Notre Dame 23

With minutes ticking down in the 4th quarter, Syracuse continued on the comeback trail. Cameron Dantley completed a pass to Donte Davis for 11 yards and the touchdown to tie the game at 23. Kicker Patrick Shadle's extra point gives Syracuse the lead.

With about ten seconds left in the game Jimmy Clausen completed a 40 yard pass to Golden Tate, and the Irish spike the ball. But, with 5 seconds left on the clock and no timeouts, Brandon Walker was faced with a 53 yard field goal, which he missed.

Notre Dame's senior class end their last game in Notre Dame Stadium with a sour taste in their mouths. Syracuse takes the win 24-23.


Syracuse 17 - Notre Dame 23

The Orange refuse to go away. Antwon Bailey's 26 yard touchdown run through the heart of the Irish defense, has cut the `Cuse deficit to 6 points. 12:30 to play in the game.


Syracuse 10 - Notre Dame 23
End of 3rd Quarter

A Syracuse turnover late in the 3rd quarter leads to three more points for ND. Scott Smith forced an Orange fumble which was scooped up by Toryan Smith and then lateralled to Gary Gray, who returned it to the five.

The Irish couldn't punch it in, and settle for a 23 yard chip shot by Brandon Walker.


Syracuse 10 - Notre Dame 20

For the 2nd time today...Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate hook up for a touchdown. A 36-yard scoring grab by Tate gives the Irish a 10-point lead, with 2:49 remaining in the 3rd quarter.

It's the multi-touchdown game of Tate's career.


Syracuse 10 - Notre Dame 13 Halftime

Jimmy Clausen and Golden Tate connect for a 35 yard touchdown with :02 remaining in the 2nd quarter. Notre Dame's touchdown drive eclipsed 76 yards in :38 seconds.


Syracuse 10 - Notre Dame 6

Notre Dame answers Syracuse's TD drive, with a 33-yard drive resulting in three points. Brandon Walker kicks a 45 yard field goal into the wind to pull the Irish within four. Walker is 2-2 on FG attempts so far today. 2:19 to go in the half


Syracuse 10 - Notre Dame 3

Syracuse marches 81 yards and takes the lead. A one yard touchdown dive by Curtis Brinkley puts the Orange up with 6:48 to play in the first half.


Syracuse 3 - Notre Dame 3
End of 1st Quarter

Syracuse kicks a 48 yard field goal, into the wind as time expires at the end of the first quarter. The drive was highlighted by a 25 yard halfback option pass to move the Orange into ND territory.
Notre Dame gained 47 yards in the quarter.


Notre Dame 3 - Syracuse 0

Senior Mike Anello forced a fumble after Notre Dame's first punt, giving the Irish the ball on the 23 yard line. A Brandon Walker field goal gives Notre Dame the early lead, 3-0.
