Penn, Clay softball advance to sectional final

MISHAWAKA — The Penn Kingsmen and Clay Colonials advanced to the 4A sectional title game with wins on Wednesday.

Playing on their home field, as the host site, Penn used a 3-run third inning to propel them to a 5-0 victory over South Bend Adams.

In the other semifinal, South Bend Clay outlasted city rival South Bend Washington, 1-0.

The championship game is 7 p.m. Friday night at Penn High School.
