ELKHART — A local high school basketball coach is in trouble with the law again.

Police stopped Mark Barnhizer at 5:30 a.m. Thursday near County Road 6 and Cassopolis Street in Elkhart. They say he was driving erratically.

He was driving a moped designed to go faster than 25 mph, which requires a license and registration.

He was ticketed for having no registration, driving on a suspended license and unsafe lane movement.

He told police he was on his way to work.

Police arrested Barnhizer in March for driving with a suspended license and operating while intoxicated. His trial for those offenses is scheduled to start in November.
