Niles softball advances to state semifinals

KENTWOOD - The Niles softball team defeated Hudsonville Unity Christian on Tuesday to advance to the state semifinals in division 2.

Maggie Earnsberger broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the 6th inning, with a solo home run to give Niles a 1-0 lead.

Jenna Ignowski pitched a complete game shutout, leading Niles to victory.

The Lady Vikings have now defeated the #1, #2, and #3 ranked teams in the state during their run through the division 2 playoffs.

They will play at 11:00am Friday in the state semifinals.
