Niles reaches state final

Jenna Ignowski slammed two homers and struck out 14 to lead Niles to an 8-1 victory over Clio High School in the Michigan Division 2 state semifinal softball championship Friday morning.

Maggie Ernsberger and Nellie Coquillard also homered for the 34-5 Vikings. They will play Saturday at 10 a.m. against Livonia Ladywood (38-6) for their first state crown.
