MISHAWAKA — The Washington girls basketball team held a reunion of sorts Tuesday night.

Skylar Diggins made sure the stellar collection of former Panther players had a happy time at their hoops get-together too.

Diggins delivered yet another virtuoso performance in leading the Metro All-Stars past the Indiana West All-Stars 118-50 in Sports Fest.

The Notre Dame bound Diggins poured in 35 points as the star-studded Metro squad dominated in the Wiekamp Center at Bethel College.

The Metro team featured all five starters from Washington's Class 4-A state runner-up team in Diggins, Jasmine Watson, Karis Phillips, Takoia Larry and Rakeesha Lane. All five plan to play in college.

Watson, who will play at UMass, scored 22, Larry 14 and Phillips 12. Former Penn star Lily Svete, who will play at Florida, netted 15 and Clay grad Elese Daniel, a Cincinnati recruit, added 11.

Aubrey Minix, the sweet-shooting former Oregon-Davis star, led the West. The state's all-time leader in 3-point shots scored 17. Brittany Davis added 11.

Miss Basketball Diggins, who led Indiana's All-Stars to a two-game sweep of Kentucky this past weekend, did it all Tuesday. The National Player of the Year displayed the competitive fire that defines her game, including diving all out for a loose ball at halfcourt with her team up 47-22 late in the opening half of the contest.

"Skylar is just a class act,'' said West coach Terry Minix of O-D. "She's incredible. Notre Dame is getting a real jewel. I just sit and watch her in awe.''

"We played hard, but were just outmanned and outsized. They had 5, 6 bigtime Division I players and five players from the same school from a team that was incredible.''

Diggins tossed in 21 first-half points as Metro led 57-27.

"It's all about getting better,'' said Diggins of her all-out approach. "We were just playing ball, having fun and trying to put on a good show. This week is the last time we get to play together. I was having a good time. It's been three months since I played with these girls from Washington.''

Washington coach Maurice Scott directed the Metro team.

"It was all about just letting them play,'' said Scott. "These games should be fun. This is a very, very strong Metro team. These kids play a very high level of basketball. As far as Skylar goes, that's just who she is.''

The Metro team plays in the championship game at 6 p.m. Friday at Bethel.
