(AP) Scotland's Dario Franchitti has won the rain-shortened 91st Indianapolis 500. It's his first Indy 500 triumph.

A hard rainstorm ended the race after 415 miles. Scott Dixon was running second with pole-winner Helio Castroneves third. Sam Hornish Jr. finished fourth.

Tony Kanaan, who led the race after a rain delay of about three hours, dropped to 12th after a pit stop and a near-collision with Jaques Lazier, who hit the wall in front of him.

Shortly after that, another crash took out Marco Andretti. Then, the rain started falling again, ending the race after 166 of the scheduled 200 laps.
