There's a reason Penn quarterback Zack Oakley plays quarterback. It's so he touches the ball on every play.
"It's really exciting," Oakley said. "Especially being an underclassman starter, it really means a lot to me."
Penn coach Cory Yeoman wants the ball in Oakley's hands as much as possible. Because he's the perfect player to run Penn's spread option offense.
"This kind of offense, with me being able to run and throw a little bit, it's kind of like a dual-threat thing," Oakley said. "And it suits me well."
"He fits the spread offense very very well at the QB position," Yeoman said. "I think you need a guy that is a threat to throw the ball as well as run the football."
And when he does, "He's very explosive," Yeoman said. "He can make plays. And he can make a bad play pretty good."
"(It's) just reading my offensive linemen and backs leading the way for me," Oakley said. As he leads the way to the end zone.
