Anna Rohrer's reign as the fastest high school girls cross country runner in Hoosier history lasted exactly one week.
Defending state champion Ashley Erba of Warsaw, a senior, bettered Rohrer's time by four tenths of a second on Saturday at the Culver Academies Invitational.
Erba clocked 17:13.7. That's a new course record at Culver and the fastest time ever recorded by a Hoosier girl cross country runner in a 5K race.
Erba also got revenge for last week's loss at New Prairie, beating Rohrer by almost 19 seconds to even this season's score at 1-1.
Mishawaka sophomore Rohrer clocked 17:32.1 while finishing second Saturday. That also broke the old course record.
